Becoming Your Own Video Game Tester by Andre Garcia

Some of you may be wondering what I'm referring to when I talk about being your own video game tester. Although there are video game jobs that have you play and test games and be paid for it, this actually has nothing to do with that. Before I go any further though, let's get one thing straight - Video games aren't exactly the most affordable form of entertainment. If any of you visit game forums or blogs, you may have come across someone talking about how they're saving their money, or set some money aside, so that they can purchase an upcoming new game console or a particular software title that they've been looking forward too.

I think it's safe to say that in many ways, purchasing something video game related can also be quite an investment. It can be a real pain having saved up all that money only to find out that the game you just purchased simply didn't live up to your expectations. It's something no gamer looks forward too. Personally speaking, this has happened to me many times. In many ways, it can be a really exciting time - You're looking forward to a particular software title that has you really excited and ready to play. On the flip side of the coin, the end result can be a very daunting experience - that title you were so anxiously waiting for not only didn't live up to your expectations, but let's face it, just plain sucked. What a waste of your time and money!

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to help take back the time you've invested in being excited about a software title. On the other hand, their are ways to help cut back on the cost before you purchase the game at full price, brand-new. One of those ways is too actually rent the software title you're interested in before you buy it. It's seems obvious, but it actually surprises me at how many people I personally don't see doing this, especially if they're not sure whether they really like the game or not. This is the time where you actually become your own "video game tester." Essentially, you want to test out the game and get a feel for it - by doing this, you can better evaluate whether the game is for you or not. If it is, then you go through with the full purchase. If not, then you just saved yourself some money and the satisfaction of knowing you didn't just blow it on a title you didn't like.

In some cases, you may actually beat the whole game during your rental - in that case, you owe yourself a pat on the back as now you beat the title and saved yourself some cash at the same time. On the other hand, some people may find that even after renting and beating their game, the replay value is so high that they go ahead and purchase it at full price anyway. So again, it's all a matter of course. Save yourself the hassle of being disappointed in a purchase you thought was going to live up to your expectations, and rent before you buy. There are many benefits to renting a video game and it shouldn't be overlooked.

Alternatively, there's another option that could help save you some money on games your interested in - especially ones that for whatever reason passed you by, or you simply didn't have the time to invest in. This goes beyond the "testing phase", as now you won't be renting but instead buying. Don't panic - this is great news, and again, it surprises me at how many people I don't see doing this. What am I talking about? Purchasing used-games, of course! To keep things short, let's just say that it is not difficult to find games for very cheap at the "used section" of almost any game retailer you can think of. Some of those retailers include Blockbuster, Micro Play and EB Games. So, always remember to test out those titles before you purchase them brand-new. Or, try and find older titles you may have forgotten about at the used section of your closest video game retailer. Good luck!

Xbox 360 - Why Should You Spend Your Money On It by Johny Rider

Xbox 360 is the coolest system since Nintendo 64! The Xbox 360 is a purely awesome gaming console, with hours and hours of fun attached. All the features on this baby leaves the owner speechless! It has an arcade feature and a shop feature. In the arcade feature, you obviously play classic arcade games. The shop feature lets you buy new things for games using "gamer points". One more cool feature is the ability to hook your Ipod up to it and listen to songs while playing games and letting it charge! The Xbox 360 has countless games for it and it's only been out for about a year!

Games such as Halo 3, Guitar Hero 3, and Bio Shock are included in the 360. Halo 3 is about a futuristic war against Aliens and Humans. Halo 3 includes a multiplayer feature which is always updating so it never gets old. Guitar Hero 3 is a game where you are able to play many classic songs. It has the difficulty levels of Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert. You can tell a difference between difficulty level and it is GREAT fun! Bio Shock is about a man who gets in a plane crash and finds an underwater city where everything has gone wrong! You meet very odd characters along the way, and discover amazing, awesomely entertaining powers known as "Plasmids." Having these games to show off to your friends feels great!

The 360 has one drawback...it's price. It can range from three hundred dollars to five hundred dollars, depending on the system you get. There are three types of the 360, Core, Normal, and Elite! The recommended version is the Normal, if you don't want to spend too much. All in all, the Xbox 360 would be an awesome thing to get, make a perfect gift, or make anyone jealous. Do yourself a favor and get one.

Halo 2 Multiplayer Tips for Beginners and Advanced playersby

frHere are some general tips from an advanced player for all of you who are looking for an edge in this game. You may know some or all the things in this article depending on your skill level. Even if you are an expert player this article should help you remember the fundamental that make you a good player. This article focuses on individual fighting tips, perhaps a future article will address team strategy.

Weapon Combos:
From close range you can hit for a lot more damage when holding two weapons. From a distance, the battle rifle is the weapon of choice if you cannot get your hands on a sniper rifle. My favorite combo for quick kills is the plasma rifle/smg combo and the pistol/smg combo. If you aim at the opponents head and they don’t aim at your head, like most people, they will be wondering how they died so fast. The plasma rifle combo is better against multiple opponents and the pistol is more effective against single opponents. This is because the pistol runs out of ammo quickly. If you can find a plasma pistol, the plasma pistol/smg combo is not bad, but it leaves you vulnerable if you miss the charged shot or if there are multiple opponents.

Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle:
This in my opinion is the ultimate combo. If you are at close to medium range, hit them with the plasma pistol and shoot them in the head with the battle rifle. At long range, pick them off with the battle rifle. This is a frustrating combo to fight against when the opponent is good. This is one of the reasons you see a lot of Human Slayer games now.

Grenades:
This is one of the things that separate good players from weaker ones. It takes a lot of practice to become an expert with grenades, but it is one of the easiest ways to kill someone. Use common sense, throw the grenade where the player will be not where they are right now. If you see someone running towards you, backup behind a wall and throw a grenade in their path. If you are surrounded, try to get off two grenades and you will sometimes get several kills. If you hit someone with a frag grenade, and you hit them in the head with a battle rifle, they die in one shot.

Melee:
If you are shooting someone and you can walk up to them, melee them if you can. Sometimes it is better to back up rather than melee. For example if you are dual wielding and did not get the first shot off against a single wielder, back off so you kill him rather than get meleed. Don’t forget that you lunge slightly when you melee, so use that to your advantage.

Where to walk:
Try to flank people as much as possible. For example if you are on top of big base sniping and you see someone on the radar coming up, look through or jump through the hole behind you and take them out. On ivory tower, if you are at the top and see someone coming from dark side, jump down a level and flank them. Do not run into rooms with more than one enemy, let them come to you or weaken them with grenades first, it is much easier to kill them that way.
Summary: The #1 tip I can give you is to aim for the head no matter what weapon you are using, except the shotgun. You will kill them a lot faster. Other than that, learn the maps and the weapon combos that work best in different situations.

Playstation 2 Games

So you like playing playstation 2 games do you? You’re a gaming
vidiot who absolutely addicted to video games. Well this little
write up will give you some history about video games. They
truly have progress in the last 20 years. The graphics and game
designs are unbelievable nowadays. There certainly is no
comparison to the type of video games we had growing up. You
basically can now enjoy a home arcade. Combine a big screen tv
and a sweet surround sound you may never leave the house.

Do you remember the video games we played as kids? I mean the
ones in the 80s. We had the ever-popular Pac-Man, Asteroids, and
Centipeed. Those outstanding innovations were the bomb! I can
recall playing Pitfall on my Atari and thinking, it doesn't get
any better than this. Okay, so I was wrong. Apparently it gets a
lot better than that. In fact, it continues to get better as
time moves on.

Are you a big PS2 fan? I was astounded when this console came
out. The big pitch didn't only concern the playstation 2 games,
but also the DVD option. That's right; you could actually use
your PS2 as a DVD player as well. Folks loved this convenient
option. Suddenly they didn't need to purchase a DVD player. It
was an all-in-one deal. What a bargain! I recall the first time
I headed over to my brother's humble abode to check out his PS2
and his new playstation 2 games.

No doubt about it electronics are always continuously
improving. It's a never-ending cycle of fun and amusement. For
example, check out some of the more recent playstation 2 games.
Wow, what a difference from the old-school Atari. I mean, the
game depths alone are amazing. People around the world enjoy
these new-age playstation 2 games on a daily basis. Do you have
the latest ones?

Wow can you believe how much video games have evolved. I truly
can’t believe the overall progression of video games. We covered
games such as Pac-man and Pitfall. Back in the day if you didn’t
have Atari you lived under a rock. Remember how you use to
change the speed level of the game on Atari. You would switch it
from slow to fast. All it did was speed up the processing of the
game. I found lots of great recreational information at this
site. http://www.cmminformation.com. How about playing pong? I
actually bought Atari about 5 years ago at a flea market. It
cost me like $20 bucks and it came with like 50 games. It was
fun playing Asteroids on a big screen Tv.

Considering I lost touch with the video game craze since my
first Nintendo, I was utterly flabbergasted at the realistic
graphics and sound effects. These new playstation 2 games are
just so real. The people are so much different than the classic
Atari figures. No more stick men. There was anything from
martial arts games to sports games to spy adventures. Who
wouldn't love playstation 2 games?

These days children across America take great pleasure in
playstation 2 games. They contend with their peers, and battle
the bad guys for as long as their parents will let them. One of
the great benefits of the PS2 is the versatility. Regardless if
you had a PS1, you can play all those old games on your PS2 as
well. How cool is that? If you're on the lookout for new
playstation 2 games, you can browse your local Best Buy and
Target stores, or simply delve into cyberspace for some
incomparable deals. Buy used playstation 2 games for half the
price. With the world at your fingertips, you will surely find
that playstation 2 game you're searching for.

Video game nation is what we should call our country.
Playstation 2 games absolutely are in a league of their own.
There is absolutely no comparison between Playstation 2 games to
the Atari games we played as children. You practically have to
peel your kids off the video games just to get their attention.
The realistic graphics that playstation 2 games provide is
simply amazing. Nothing compares to this level of graphic
detail. Will the video game market or playstation 2 market ever
plateau you ask? Only time will tell.
